China is so big, where are the happiest people? The Central Radio and Television General Station held the grand release ceremony of "China's Better Living Cities (2020-2021)" in Chengdu. According to the results of this survey, Qingdao is listed on " China's Better Living Cities Top Ten Desired Cities ". Also on the list are Shanghai, Beijing, Xi 'an, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Kunming, Lhasa, Chongqing and Xiamen. The survey showed that the employment environment in Qingdao tops the list, and women's happiness in Qingdao is generally higher, ranking second among cities with high happiness among women.
"People's cities are built by people, and serve for the people." The Great Survey of China's Better Life focused on "the times produce papers, and the people review papers", giving the choose right to the "parties involved "-ordinary citizens. With "no matter how small the voice is, we can hear it" as the original intention, the survey went deep into the smallest economic cells in China in an era full of changes, letting the people to score the good life with their true feelings, aiming to find the source of happiness for the Chinese people, and truly reflecting that "Whether the people are satisfied and happy or not".
The survey was jointly launched by the Financial and Economic Program Center of the Central Radio and Television General Station, together with the National Bureau of Statistics, China Post Group Corporation and the National Development Research Institute of Peking University. Since 2006, the survey has resonated with the three "Five-Year Plans", conducting household questionnaire survey for fifteen years in a row on 100,000 Chinese families in more than 150 cities and 300 counties, which is by far the largest survey on people's livelihood feelings in the world. In the first year of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the "Great Survey of China's Better Life" was moved to cities other than Beijing for the first time to hold a series of activities for the release ceremony. Therefore, apart from continuing some surveys such as "willingness to consume and invest", "leisure and work trends", "people's livelihood difficulties and happiness", this year's survey will also optimize the evaluation indicators of Better Life Index, and in this way people can form more dimensions for the satisfaction evaluation of the management ability and social service level of their cities. At the same time, the survey also expanded the network channels, collected 430,000 valid online samples this year.
At the event, the "Big Survey Indicator System + Big Data of Satisfaction with a Better Life" was released. The survey results showed that Qingdao people generally have a high sense of happiness, ranking among the top ten provincial capitals, municipalities directly under the Central Government and municipalities with independent planning status with the strongest sense of happiness in 2020. In all the evaluation indicators, Qingdao has a number of indicators exceeding the national average. As an island of youth, an entrepreneurship city and a "unicorn" among the cities, Qingdao’s employment environment ranks first. At the same time, Qingdao's women's happiness is generally high, ranking second among cities with high female happiness.
A city is an aggregation of people. The gold content of the "Desirable Cities" is ultimately measured by the citizens' senses of gain, happiness, and security. The continuous improvement of industrial economy, government services, urban construction, social governance and other aspects and benefiting the people can truly make Qingdao's urban quality visible and tangible.
